What is a Transition Coach?

As a transition coach, I have studied what happens in your brain during a significant life transition, whether that’s changing your career, getting a divorce or starting a family. Although some transitions are rites of passage, times of change (graduation, first job, wedding) that come with celebrations, others are less socially acknowledged. They can be a time of great stress, anxiety, and overthinking without clear and purposeful focused direction.

Together we will identify and clarify your values during this change. We review key areas of your life to see what’s working well and what’s important to you. We identify what you can improve quickly and what will take more work. And then we make it so.

All the while, as your coach, I am your advocate, rooting for you, believing in the best version of you, and helping you identify and create the life you want to have while managing the expected and unexpected hurdles during these times.

What are the benefits of working with a Transition Coach?

Times of transition work differently with different people; some shut down, while others run away from it (it’s that old flight, fight or freeze concept). We are wired to like comfort and stability, especially as we age. So transitions can seem as scary as a bison charge.

Transition clients work with me to press pause, gain control of their mindset and shift that distress into eustress and productivity, happiness, contentment, and creativity. After the shift, my clients experience more ease and can start problem-solving and actively moving toward a solution.

Other transition clients welcome the transition, especially one that brings joy (wedding, children), and seek help sorting and prioritizing the options in front of them, and making values-based choices.
