Pre-summer check in / Allison updates

Hello,

What a gorgeous time of year. End of the school year, graduation, wedding seasons. So many celebrations. It’s transition central!

And so many of you reach out for a “check in” session. It’s a joy to see clients I haven’t seen in many seasons or even years.  If you’re thinking about it, reach out and come say hi!

I have quite a few updates on my practice, so here goes:

I’m shifting the kind of work I do.

If you’ve worked with me,  you know that often clients come to work on X (change a job, feel less anxious), and as we begin our work, we end up expanding our focus to work on bigger things (deal with an unsatisfying marriage, change locations, completely shift careers).

I’m expanding my practice to reflect that, moving away from tactical career coaching and into more depthful change coaching, including values coachingmidlife coaching and divorce coaching. It’s the work I’ve been doing, and I wanted to make it official. There are plenty of resume writers and linked in optimizers out there; I’m better as a more depthful transition and transformation partner, so here I am! (Full website renovation coming soon!)

I’m intentionally changing the way I think and feel.  Join me?

I recently took a holotropic breathwork training program.  After that wild ride, I was inspired to look into the history of breathwork, and realized that the particular approach I studied was specifically designed by Stanislav Grof in effort to recreate his experiences with LSD. Whaaat?

So yeah, holotripic breathwork is trippy and it’s natural. Nothing to ingest other air in your lungs, music in your ears…you get me. It’s expansive and revelatory, inspires feeling not thinking, and is powerful connection to yourself. It’s a wild ride.

Since we know you can’t get new output from the same input, I’m always in search of new tools help you shift your thinking by shifting your feeling. Breathing, mindfulness, and meditation help, and clients have been asking me to practice breathwork and meditation in-session together.  Wanna play?

Resources to support somatic change.

I’ve been nerding out with a reading list to support the above exploration. Here’s what’s on my night stand:

Membership is a privilege!

I’m thrilled to announce that I’ve been invited to join the Mind Body Therapy Collective, a local group of therapists, psychiatrists and alternative healers. I am the first coach they’ve invited to the collective, and it feels wonderful to represent my craft and be held by the group. They’re hosting a mini-retreat on June 14th. If you’re interested in checking out some alternative modalities, have at look!

Happy June, happy summer. Please drop me a line and please, don’t hesitate to forward this note to a friend who might benefit from some transformation coaching (nudge, nudge), or reach out yourself if you’d like to do a check in session. Can’t wait to see you!

Xxoo-
