Today is my birthday and I’ll give you a present if I want to!!
As mentioned in my last newsletter, at this very moment I’m doing breathwork training in New Mexico.
What’s breathwork you’re wondering?
It’s a trip. And I mean that literally.
The breather sits on the floor or massage table, comfortably on a blanket. They are assisted by a person who supports them for the 40 minutes or so that they’re doing deep diaphramatic breathing. The support person (or “healer”) guides, burns sage and sweetgrass, and applies therapeutic oils to the body of the breather. Strong, loud powerful music is played. The healer may do some gentle body work or massage while the breather is working.
The healer tends to the breather, compassionately and lovingly.
After 5-8 minutes of strong, deep breathing, the breather can enter a trance-like altered state. It’s an exhilarating and semi-hallucinatory state that can be powerfully emotionally revealing.
It’s been a trip so far. I’ve had my many of my own experiences this week where I find myself running for a notebook, amazed at the revelations I’m having, seeing and most importantly feeling.
Here’s more on the training I’m doing. I learned about David’s work through Julie and Billy, a local couple who run Spirit11ouse. They offer breathwork workshops in the Montclair area and they’re wonderful.
So back to your it’s my birthday present.
I’d like to offer one-hour breathwork sessions for $299 per session. It’s a rather wild experience, and as I’m new(ish) to bodywork, I wanted to offer a reduced price as I add this offerig to my coaching practice.
Just email me back and let me know you’re interested, or get formal and use my form (just let me know you’re interested in breathwork).
I look forward to exploring this new offering with you!
